Violence doesn’t announce itself. It doesn’t wait for daylight.

Most real-world threats happen in the dark..

The Night Vision Operator course is built for that reality. This is rifle fighting in complete blackout, using NODs, IR lasers, IR illuminators, and weapon-mounted lights exactly as they’re meant to be used when the lights fail.

This is not a square-range marksmanship class under floodlights. This is real-world night fighting.

You’ll run the same proven drills we teach law enforcement and professionals—moving and shooting, engaging around vehicles, bounding with partners, and clearing rooms in our live-fire shoot house—all in pitch black, relying solely on night vision and IR targeting.

Students are pushed to operate under physical stress, cognitive overload, and zero ambient light—the conditions where most shooters fail when it actually matters.

You will leave this course with:

  • Sharper rifle and pistol manipulation in total darkness
  • The ability to move, communicate, and fight with purpose using NODs and IR
  • A combat mindset rooted in low-light decision-making, not just shooting
  • Confidence earned through live reps in blackout scenarios, not theory

This is training for those who take responsibility seriously.

Course Curriculum Includes:

  • Night Vision & IR Equipment Setup and Zeroing Getting your NODs, lasers, and illuminators dialed in for combat accuracy.
  • Mechanical Offset & Holds with IR Lasers Under Stress Making precise hits when distance, angles, and barriers matter in the dark.
  • Dynamic Movement & Threat Engagement in Blackout Advancing, retreating, and angling off threats while maintaining IR target acquisition.
  • Rifle to Pistol Transitions in Low/No Light Seamless switches when your primary goes down and visibility is zero.
  • Moving & Shooting with NODs Accurate fire while moving individually and with a partner.
  • Multiple Threat Engagements in Darkness Prioritization, target discrimination, and efficient movement under IR.
  • Cover vs. Concealment at Night Knowing what actually stops bullets when you can’t see it clearly.
  • Bounding & Partner Movement Drills with NODs Coordinated overwatch, communication, and fire-and-movement in blackout.
  • Close-Quarter Engagements in the Shoot House Room entry, clearing, and fighting inside compressed spaces using only IR.
  • Vehicle Engagements with Night Vision Fighting from, around, and into vehicles—realistically, in the dark.

Required Equipment:

  • Night vision device (monocular or binocular)
  • Weapon-mounted IR laser/illuminator (e.g., PEQ-15, MAWL, OTAL)
  • Rifle / Carbine / Pistol Caliber Carbine
  • Magazine-fed pistol
  • Minimum of 3 magazines per firearm
  • Helmet or head mount for NODs
  • Belt-mounted holster
  • Single or two-point sling

Estimated Round Count:

  • 200 rounds pistol (FMJ)
  • 50 rounds pistol – compressed copper frangible (for shoot house)

This course is not for casual shooters. It’s for those who understand that most violence happens when the lights go out—and that skill with night vision beats gear and hope every time.

If you want to be harder to kill when the world goes dark, this is where you start.

Train like it matters—because it does.
